Sustainability wins at the 2023 Waikato Business Awards
20/11/2023
We are thrilled to share that NZ National Fieldays Society has been chosen as the winner of the Sustainability Award (Sponsored by Wintec, Te Pūkenga) at the 2023 Waikato Business Awards that took place on the 17th of November.
A substantial effort is invested in this aspect of our business, and with Janine Monk as our Community & Sustainability Executive, we're making strides. This commitment resulted in the launch of the inaugural Fieldays Sustainability Hub at Fieldays® 2023, an extension of our sustainability platform.
Sustainability is a broad subject, and our 12-year focus, coupled with ISO accreditation 20121, is a significant achievement. While we take pride in this success, the ever-evolving market and expectations mean there's more exciting work on the horizon.
Judges Feedback:
As a national brand and thought leader in the primary industry, NZ National Fieldays Society is truly walking the talk and playing its part in promoting and sharing sustainable practices. Sustainability is clearly being embedded in the organisation, showcased through its member's events and promoted amongst its stakeholders.
Continue to keep the whole of business and stakeholders engaged and communicated to in ways that resonate and are meaningful to them as different groups. As an idea, create and communicate an executive summary for your annual report, rather than hoping that readers will engage for 50 pages of text and data. Continued investment in the sustainability programme will require significant ongoing funding. Create more clarity around budget time for initiatives and resources required to ensure outcomes continue to be met.
The judges particularly commended the commitment to realistic initiatives by its senior leadership and ongoing investment in areas where they know they can make a difference.
