Ag Art Wear is a prestigious and highly-creative competition that challenges designers to create artistic garments using materials sourced from the farm, rural industries or the natural environment.

This year Ag Art Wear is shaking things up and moving to the Village Green stage. You can catch all the same flurry of unique, intriguing and highly-skilled creations, but in a new central location. The shows will run each day with three categories – Designer Traditional, Avant Garde, and Classroom Couture – and a fantastic prize pool of $7,800 up for grabs.

Avant Garde 

   Designer Traditional   Classroom Couture

Entrants are encouraged to unleash
their creative genius to create a
piece of art for the body that is
outrageously experimental and pushes
the boundaries of 
conventional design.
Entrants should create a visual effect
that will generate audience reaction.
Designs in this category do not
encompass traditional clothing
elements. The main 
element is to
create a mind-blowing effect –
challenging, innovative, radical
and unique.


 

Designers need to create a conventional
and traditionally styled garment, embracing
the competitions theme of sourcing
materials used in the practice of daily
farming. Garments should have artistic
features but embrace innovative design
approaches that are showcased on the
great couture runways of Europe.






 
 

This category is open to those currently
attending an education institute that isn’t
at tertiary level. Designs in this category
may either resemble traditional garment
styles and shapes or may be an
ultra-modern piece of art for the body
following the Avant Garde theme.

Those who wish to participate in the event will need to take note of the following dates:

Expression of Interest form:

This is an online form and can be found on this page. This needs to be submitted by Friday 6 May, 2016.

Entry fee payment:

Payment will be required once your garment has been accepted into the competition, not all garments will make it to the next round. Garments will be accepted after completing pre-judging. If payment is not received prior to Wednesday 15 June, your garment will not make it to the competition.


Applications close: 

All garments to be at the venue and application forms submitted by Wednesday 1 June, 2016.
