The PGG Wrightson IHC Calf & Rural Scheme, with the support of Allflex and Volkswagen of New Zealand, involves farmers, PGG Wrightson and IHC working together to raise money for New Zealanders who have an intellectual disability. Participating farmers raise a farm animal until they are weaned. The animals are then sold through PGG Wrightson and all proceeds from the sales go to IHC. Launched in 1984, the Calf Scheme is a vital fundraiser – more than 6000 animals are donated annually raising over $1.4 million.
