Avant Garde - Under 21

CRITERIA:
The Avant Garde - Under 21 category, has been developed to foster aspiring young artists and designers. As with the Avant Garde category, this section is for designs which are truly sculptures for the body. The section has be specifically introduced for secondary and tertiary institutions, although independent individuals are welcome to enter.

Designs in this category should not resemble traditional clothing garments styles/shapes i.e. it could be worn as clothing if made from clothing material (e.g. dress, jacket, bodice, skirt, hat etc.). As ultra-modern art for the body, the designs should be unique, outlandish, challenging and surprising.

To compete in this category, entrants must be under the age of 21 years on the competition entry deadline date 16 May 2012. Entrants under the age of 21 are entitled to also enter all other Ag Art Wear competition categories.

MATERIALS:
Designs should be made from agricultural products, by-products and/or materials found on the farm or in farming related industries (except farm clothing). Naturally occurring items may also be utilised i.e. feathers, fur, seeds, bone, plant materials etc.. (with the exception of noxious plant materials). Aim to create your unique design from materials that are not commonly used or found. Limit usage of weed matting, frost cloth, milk filter sleeves and feed bags to linings where possible. Your design must not include elements of farm clothing.
