Fieldays Strategic Partner - The University of Waikato

University of Waikato Research and Innovation
Innovation goes right to the heart of our research
Ideas are our stock in trade, and as the key tertiary institution in the Waikato region – New Zealand’s agricultural heartland – we understand the importance of making those ideas relevant and useful.
Collaboration solidifies our success
We’re part of a land-based research network, and our academics work closely with organisations such as AgResearch, NIWA, GNS Science, Landcare Research, DairyNZ, Environment Waikato and Environment BOP as well as the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Expertise determines our way forward
Our expertise ranges from waterways management to carbon sequestration, from bioplastics to sustainable aquaculture in open coast locations, from utilising microbes to enrich soils to automating the complex chemical analysis of contaminants in soil and food. Our presence at Fieldays 2012 will show you just how the University of Waikato is playing a large part in the changing face of farming. We have a strong focus on research and teaching that addresses challenges and adds value to land-based industry. University of Waikato researchers are finding ways that bring gains for producers and also enhance the well-being of the communities and the environment in which they operate. New Zealand’s long-term economic growth depends on it.
