The University of Waikato

About The University of Waikato
The University of Waikato attracts some of New Zealand’s top students, and many international students, to its wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The university has a proud history in the Waikato. In just over 40 years it has grown from a few acres of raw farmland into a bustling 65-hectare campus, employing more than 2,000 staff and attracting more than 13,000 students annually.
Waikato University has several enduring partnerships and research collaborations with various leading organisations including Fonterra, AgResearch, NIWA, GNS Science, Landcare Research, DairyNZ, Waikato and Bay of Plenty regional councils, as well as the the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. Our students, particularly in science and engineering, but also in other areas of study, undertake work experience as part of their degrees and many go on to careers in these organisations.
